Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: Quick Guide to Gift Locations

Gift Pokémon can nicely boost your roster of pocket monsters in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Let’s see how you can get some.

In the beginning, you will get a starter roster in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which typically includes the likes of Piplup or Chimchar. 

But as you keep on exploring the game and completing quests, NPCs will trust you with the custody of some of their own pocket monsters.

And sometimes, those can be quite useful: rare in your locations, hard-to-catch, or even Legendary. So, how to get some?

Sadly, the game isn’t generous in giving out Gift Pokémon. But you can do the following:

1. Floaroma Town

After beating Oreburgh’s challenge, head to Floarama. In that scenic town, you need to head to the left bottom area. There you will run into an old couple, who will be flower-gazing. 

Now, if you have to save files from:

• Pokémon Sword or Shield.
• Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Let’s Go, Eevee.

Then you will get two Gift Pokémon.

2. Hearthome City

While leaving the city, you’ll meet a hiker. Talk to him, and he’ll present you an Egg, from which Happiny will hatch.

3. Iron Island

On the island, one of the main objectives is to defeat Team Galactic Grunts — they make Pokémon behave violently. Once it’s done, your partner in justice Riley will give you a Riolu Egg.

4. Hearthome City 2

Once you access NatDex, head back to Hearthsome City. There, go to Bede’s house, which is located next to the Pokémon training facility. After a chat, she will present you with a Level 5 Evee. 

All in all, there are 14 Gift Pokémon in the game. And the rest of them you’ll be able to collect after completing the main story.
